J & C Antique Furniture

So, we decided to build benches to use at the bar in our new house. Our kitchen bar is really high and we weren't having any luck finding bar stools tall enough. Here is the progression of the work still in progress, one bench down, one to go. You can't really tell in the pictures all the "character" we added to the bench. We hit it with a chain, chiseled some pieces out, torched it, sanded it, basically beat it up. I still have cast iron stars I need to add for the finishing touch. Maybe Jason's second career (after he retires from the Air Force) will be building furniture, or maybe not.

Ethan is wearing goggles, gloves, a helmet and......flip flops???? I guess having children with all 10 toes intact isn't all that important to you and Jason.

The bench looks awesome!

Nice work J&C. You could sell that on English ebay antiques shop. Okay, maybe someone would discover it was a fake, but it looks nice. Your house is looking all settled.
