The first parade of the Mardi Gras season was today in Ocean Springs. In case you are wondering, it is a family friendly parade which is why kids are allowed. I know kids and Mardi Gras aren't normally mentioned in the same sentence but Ocean Springs' Parade is very family friendly. The kids decided to brave the chilly weather and earn their beads. We parked in the same spot as we did last year and enjoyed the parade with a few other families in our squadron. I thought it would be fun to post a pic from last years parade just for comparison. Notice the kids had a lot less clothing on last year, or at least mine did.

314 AW CGOY
Let me give a brief background into the title of this post. This all started a few weeks ago when Jason was submitted to the group for CGO (Company Grade Officer) of the year, after winning at the squadron. Our squadron is a tenant unit here at Keesler AFB; our home base is Little Rock AFB, where the operations group and wing are located. Little Rock AFB is a C-130 base and we are a C-21 squadron; the odds are never in our favor. So, when Jason won CGO for the ops group, it was quite a surprise for everyone. He and LtCol Canlas flew to Little Rock AFB for the annual awards banquet and represented our humble little C-21 squadron. Not only did they represent the squadron, Jason brought home CGO for the Wing!
I wish I could've been there, Lt.Col. Canlas sent me a text as soon as Jason won and this is what it said: Hot off the press...Jason Eddy-314th Airlift Wing CGO of the year!
The C-130 Model is the award from the wing, even though Jason has never flown the C-130 we'll humbly accept it and envision a C-21 :-)

Jason, a procrastinator?
Well, we all know who the procrastinator is in our family. Just what is he procrastinating about? The picture says it all.
