Ethan's Solar System

Ethan's second grade class had to make solar systems for their science project.  Ethan was very pleased with the finished project.  Science is definitely his favorite subject!

1st & 2nd Grade

Ethan and Rachel started school today at Jeff Davis Elementary. We rode bikes to school, even though it was so humid and hot. The school is less than a mile from our door so the bike ride wasn't too bad. Rachel's teacher is Mrs. Fontenelle and Ethan's teacher is Mrs. Bialias. The second photo is the first day Ethan started preschool in Grand Forks, it's hard to believe that was 3 years ago. They are growing up way too fast!

Our growing aquarium...

I thought I'd post an updated picture of our 150 gallon salt water aquarium. The first picture was taken about 7 months ago.

Rachel lost her 1st tooth!

After being patient for so many years and watching Ethan lose teeth and have the tooth fairy visit, Rachel finally lost her first tooth. And when I say lost, I mean it literally. Jason tied a string around her tooth and slammed the door and that's the last we saw of her little baby tooth. We searched hi and low and found nothing but a few dust bunnies. When it was time to go to bed Rachel asked me to write the tooth fairy a note explaining what happened and could she please get money even if there wasn't a tooth under her pillow. I wrote the note and left it on Rachel's dresser in her room, five minutes later I hear her crying. I go to see what is wrong and she is terrified of the tooth fairy coming in her room. After all the build up for the tooth fairy coming she decided that she didn't want the tooth fairy to come at all. Rachel made me throw the first note away and I had to write a new note to the tooth fairy explaining why she didn't want her to come. Hopefully we'll have better luck with the next tooth!

Happy Birthday Babe!

I thought I'd make Jason's commute to work (all 3 miles of it) a little comedic on his birthday.
